Amar Chitra Katha a Comic Books on selected stories of Mann Ki Baat of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India

Ministry of Culture in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha (ACK) Pvt. Ltd. has launched a series of 12 comic books on the themes and stories covered in the Mann Ki Baat. The first comic book was released on 30th April 2023 in honor of the 100th edition of Mann Ki Baat. In the first book, there are nine stories covering different walks of life from different parts of the country. A set of adorable fictional characters will be constant across this series of 12 books. Through their conversations, we will discover the themes and stories of Mann Ki Baat.

GREEN Olympiad 2023

GREEN Olympiad is a leading school-based initiative of TERI. The journey started in 1999 as India’s premier environment quiz for school students. It has since then incorporated within itself several stages of initiatives at TERI in the field of sustainability transformation to match the aspirations of the academic community to establish as an Environment Education brand. Reaching out to nearly 2000 schools annually in India and abroad, this Olympiad is designed for students of Std. 4–12. The overall objective of this initiative is to sensitize and build capacity of students on environment, sustainability, and green skills.

The importance of organizing Olympiads is articulated in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, as a medium to minimize rote learning and instead encourage holistic development and enhance 21st century skills. GREEN Olympiad is the first Olympiad on environment studies in India and draws its linkages towards ‘Goal 4 – Target 7’ (SDG 4.7) which states, ‘ensure all learners acquire knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including among others through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development’ by 2030.

Implementation Model of GREEN Olympiad

GREEN Olympiad examination addresses a range of topics such as water, waste, energy, air, biodiversity, climate, global warming, sustainable development, culture, green skills and current affairs pertaining to environment and sustainable development. This year, we also aspire to create a convergence with Mission LiFE and promote the vision of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India to reach out to all parts of the country.

The paper comprises of multiple choice questions that test students’ knowledge, application and analytical skills and simultaneously spreads awareness through informative questions. There is no negative marking and students are expected to appear for a paper based examination within the confines of the school.

NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR HOTEL MANAGEMENT JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (NCHM JEE) – 2023

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE-2023) for admission to the B.Sc. (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) Course at the Institutes of Hotel Management (IHM) affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHM&CT) for the Academic Year 2023-24 in Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode.

A candidate should have passed 10+2 / Senior Secondary Examination /Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in NCHM JEE 2023 on provisional basis. with English as one of the subjects, from a recognized Educational Board. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination.

  • To apply for BSc BEd in the Physical Science group candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Statistics (PCM) subjects.

KV 1 Devlali joins ‘100 Days of Reading Campaign’ launched by Ministry of Education

KV 1 Devlali joins the ‘100 Days Reading Campaign’ launched by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Govt of India on January 1, 2022, to achieve Universal Foundational Literacy and Numeracy at the Primary level in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020.
The Department of School Education and Literacy is initiating this NATIONWIDE READING CAMPAIGN for creating a joyful reading experience for children so that each child learns to read and thereafter, can read to learn.
TARGET GROUP:
Children studying in Class I to Grade VIII will be part of this campaign. They will further be categorised in three groups class wise:
GROUP I: GRADE I & II
GROUP II: GRADE III TO GRADE V
GROUP III: GRADE VI TO GRADE VIII
DURATION OF THE CAMPAIGN:
The reading campaign will be organised for 100 days (14 weeks) starting from January 2022 to April 2022.

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2022

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 National Law Universities around the country. CLAT is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities consisting of the representative universities.

The Consortium of National Law Universities has begun the registration process for the Common Law Admission Test ( CLAT, 2022 ). The last date to apply for CLAT 2022 is March 31, 2022, and the examination is scheduled for May 8, 2022. The CLAT 2022 examination will be held in OFFLINE mode

Eligibility for UG

*There will be no upper age limit for UG Programme in CLAT 2022.

*As regards minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination), the candidates must have secured: Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories

Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April, 2022 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2022 examination. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission

It is very important for students to be aware of the salient features of the Constitution in order to become informed citizens of the nation. It is imperative for the millennial generation to have a strong knowledge of the core ideas behind the constitutional framework and inculcate the values of being a responsible citizen of the country. Thus, it becomes important to remind them about their responsibility in building a peaceful, healthy, and prosperous country.
CIET-NCERT aims to spread awareness amongst children and young adults about the need to be socially and morally responsible citizens through the Constitution quiz competition “Let’s Explore Our Constitution” which was launched on 26th November 2021.
This Constitution quiz competition will provide an engaging platform for children and young adults in imbibing the values of our Constitution. This will further increase their knowledge and awareness of their basic rights and duties towards our country. There will be 252 questions. The students will receive a participation certificate along with a merit certificate for their performance. The quiz was earlier open till 26th December 2021 which is now extended up till 26th January 2022.
It is requested to share the above information with all the Headmaster/Principal of schools so that students get an opportunity to participate in large numbers and understand the constitutional values of the largest democracy in the world.

  • Bachelor’s Programs (B.Des & B.FTech): Maximum age should be less than 24 years as on 1st August of the year of admission. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for candidates of Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories
  • Educational Qualification for B.Des: The +2 level exam in the 10+2 pattern of exam of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Exam, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Exam, New Delhi. A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Exam conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects or; 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education
  • Any Public School/Board/University Exam in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Exam (London/ Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB)

Exam Pattern 

  • All eligible candidates would have to go through an exam process. The process for each program is separately listed below:
  • B.Des: For candidates to the UG Design programs, the selection process comprises a written exam comprising a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a Situation Test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates of the written exam.
  • B.FTech: For candidates to the UG Fashion Technology program, the selection process comprises a written exam comprising of a General Ability Test (GAT)
  • M.Des: PG Design Program, the selection process comprises a written exam comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and GAT followed by GD/PI for shortlisted candidates of the written exam
  • MFM: Selection process comprises of Written Test comprising of a GAT followed by GD/PI for shortlisted candidates of the written exam
  • M.FTech.: For the M.F.Tech program, the selection process comprises of Written test comprising of a GAT followed by GD/PI for shortlisted candidates of the written exam
  • Note: The objective type tests are subject to negative marking. The negative marking will apply at the rate of 0.25 each wrong answer.

Free Online Course on the Indian Constitution by Ministry of Law & Justice

As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, an Online Course on the Indian Constitution has been launched by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Govt. of India on 25th November 2021 on the eve of the Constitution. Registrations are open for Free Online Courses on the Indian Constitution by the Ministry of Law & Justice. Online registrations are open on the official website.

Aim
The online course aims to create awareness about the Indian Constitution and subsequently strengthen the citizens of the country. The online course is offered by the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice in collaboration with the National Academy of Legal Studies & Research (NALSAR) University of Law, Hyderabad.
Application
The registration of this course is free.
Once candidates register for the online course on the website, they will be granted access to 15 conceptual videos that will help the participants of the course to get familiarized with the text of the Constitution and to identify the fundamental policy choices embodied in the Constitution. In addition, the course offers insight into the historical evolution and the post-independence journey of the making of the Constitution.
Benefits
On completion of the course, a certificate of participation will be automatically generated. Candidates who want to obtain a certificate of merit or certificate of appreciation will have to go through an online assessment at a token of Rs.100/-. The certificate is purely optional.

ALL INDIA SAINIK SCHOOLS ENTRANCE EXAM-AISSEE – 2022

Sainik Schools offer admission at the level of Class VI and Class IX. Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE).
National Testing Agency has released the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam (AISSEE) 2022 application form for Class 6 and 9 admissions for the academic year 2022-23. The Sainik School registration form 2022 can be filled  ‘ON-LINE’ only through official website https://aissee.nta.nic.in.
The last date to submit the AISSEE 2022 application form is October 26, 2021, till 5 pm.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM)-2021

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an institution under the Ministry of Education. VVM is a national program for popularizing science among school students of standard VI to XI, conceptualised to identify the bright minds with a scientific aptitude among the student community.
SCHOOL-LEVEL EXAM (JUNIOR AND SENIOR)
There will be only one examination for a total of one hour thirty minutes duration at school level with 100 multiple choice questions, each weighted for one mark. Examination will consist of Two Segments viz. Section-A (comprising of 40 questions from study material Indian Contributions to Science; Life story of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray & India’s Freedom Struggle & Science to be provided by Vijnana Bharati) & Section-B (comprising of 60 questions based on the Text Books of NCERT Curriculum & Logic and Reasoning (open source)). The examination will be conducted separately for Junior Group (class VI to VIII) and for Senior Group (class IX to XI).
Evaluation of students will be based on their individual performance at each level. The examination will be conducted in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Odia and Assamese (major regional languages).

GREEN Olympiad 2021- 2022

Green Olympiad-2021

‌The Green Olympiad every year since 1999. Students of classes 4 to 12 are eligible to apply for the Green Olympiad. Interested students can participate in their school or as individuals. But the entire TERI Green Olympiad registration process will be carried online through the TERI Olympiad’s official website. The main motive of the Green Olympiad is to spread awareness about the environment among the students.
About TERI Green Olympiad Exam
TERI Green Olympiad is a written competitive exam conducted by The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) every year. The TERI Green Olympiad started with a vision-related to sustainable development by providing improved conservation for our planet.
Students from all over the globe can participate in the Green Olympiad. Green Olympiad aims to make students aware of the environmental issues, which need to be addressed and are related to their day-to-day life.

Please read the following instructions carefully before filling the form:

General Instructions

    • Schools / Students can register for GREEN Olympiad only if students have a valid and unique email ID. It is compulsory to have unique e-mail ID for students because information related to the examination will be sent only on this ID.
    • GREEN Olympiad 2021 will cover two issues of topical interest:
      (i) Environment and Sustainable Development
      (ii) Green Skills + Environment and Sustainable Development
    • Questions related to the following sub topics will be covered:
      (i) Environment & Sustainable Development: Water, waste, energy, air, agriculture, forests, biodiversity, health, climate change, traditional wisdom, and other issues related to sustainable development.
      (ii) Green Skills: 21st century skills, green infrastructure, , circular economy, agriculture, forestry, oceans, fisheries, renewable energy, biofuels, packaging and processing, green technologies, green jobs and policies.
    • GREEN Olympiad examination will comprise of multiple choice questions. There is no negative marking.
    • Schools affiliated to a recognized education board/trust can register for this Olympiad.
    • Individual registrations from students will also be accepted.
    • Students from Standard IV – XII can appear for either one or both themes in the following levels
      (i) Level 1 – Std. IV & V
      (ii) Level 2 – Std. VI, VII & VIII
      (iii) Level 3 – Std. IX & X
      (iv) Level 4 – Std. XI & XII
    • Duration of the examination is 60 minutes, and the language will be in English.
    • Students can appear only on the chosen date and time, which cannot be changed later under any circumstances.
    • Schools/students are requested to check the project website for regular updates
    • Computer/Laptop with high speed internet facility should be available with students to appear for this online examination.
    • Results will be available online. All registered participants will receive certificate of Distinction/ Merit/ participation based on their performance immediately after the examination.

UNESCO endorses the TERI Green Olympiad, and it helps students test their analytical skills and environmental consciousness. It opens their gates for the registration of students every year. For 2021, the Green Olympiad will be conducted only online.

Priya – The Accessibility Warrior”, ecomic cum activity booklet

Priya – The Accessibility Warrior”, a comic book launched by Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Ministry of Education and Dr. Virendra Kumar, Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India on 24th August, 2021. The comic book named “Priya -The Accessibility Warrior” is the outcome of collaborative efforts of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India. It provide glimpses into the world of a girl named Priya who met an accident and couldn’t walk, due to plastered leg,. The story depicts how she managed to participate in all activities at school, as the school has made efforts to become accessible. In the process Priya learnt the importance of the accessibility and therefore she takes the pledge of being the accessibility warrior.

The key message of the book is “Everyone Needs Accessibility, Accessibility Helps Everyone”. The comic book also consists of Nine activities which will facilitate learning more about the accessibility/concerns and its importance in our daily lifestyle. The National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes the promotion of Inclusiveness in the education structure of our nation, these kind of initiatives helps bring the awareness in the masses which will bring a widespread revolutionary change for the betterment and for building a bright future for our students.

“Priya- The Accessibility Warrior” comic book brings the message of need of accessibility and helps guiding the students in the right path and flourish the ideologies of being kind, helpful and solicitous towards everyone. The comic book is available on DIKSHA Portal, E-Pathshala, and NCERT website for everyone to access and read the comic book.
